N690 NOOKI folding knife

The Nooki knife version N690 is produced in a limited series numbered from 1 to 100. Handcrafted, it features a flat notch closure system.

Dimensions :

• length when open: 210 mm
• length when closed: 116 mm

Dimensions of the N690 steel blade:

• blade length 94 mm
• cutting edge length 90 mm
• blade thickness: 3 mm

The plates are made of 1.4016 stainless steel and, for specialists, the spring is made of Z20 steel.

The scales are made of ecru-coloured linen Micarta, which gives them an ivory appearance. It comes in a wooden box with its certificate of authenticity and a grained leather case, also made in France. 

The steel Böhler N690, often referred to simply as N690, is a high-end stainless steel manufactured in Austria by Böhler-Uddeholm.

It is highly prized in outdoor, tactical and artisan cutlery.     

In general, it has a hardness of between 58 and 60 HRC depending on the heat treatment.   

Composition (simplified):

• Carbon ~1.07% for  good sharpness and excellent cutting performance.
• Chromium ~17% for  excellent corrosion resistance.
• Cobalt ~1.5%  improves hardness and cutting edge stability.
• A touch of molybdenum and vanadium for wear resistance.
